Commissions are actually a great way for an artist to push his boundaries and explore new subjects and ideas, and a great way for collectors to connect with an artist they admire and become a part of the artistic process. To commission a painting is to become a true patron of the arts, and at the end of the process, one is left with a beautiful object that would never have existed without his or her initial germ of inspiration. For those who might be intimidated by the idea of a commission, Denman is also happy to offer "first right of refusal" as an alternative. If you're interested in a particular subject, just ask, and the artist will be happy to notify you first if and when a painting becomes available that meets your criteria.
